Gallowstreet (NL)

The headliner for the first day of the festival is the Dutch electro-brass group Gallowstreet. The eight band members have already released four albums and can look back on a decade of innovative brass music.

Over the years, the group has made a name for itself at numerous festivals and in clubs. With seven brass players and a drummer, Gallowstreet draws on a wide range of musical genres to tell stories through their own compositions. Most of these are beat-driven, and all share a hymnal character.

Gallowstreet has proven to be a major inspiration for the emerging European brass band scene, with many of their songs being covered by young, enthusiastic brass bands from all over the world.

Their current album is titled “A Trip Worth Making” and captivates with rousing anthems, intelligently orchestrated drops and builds, and emotionally charged riffs.

With appearances at Lowlands, North Sea Jazz, and Bout Du Monde, as well as sold-out club shows at the famous Paradiso in Amsterdam and the legendary New Morning in Paris, the band is a well-traveled, experienced ensemble that is sure to send you into a state of ecstasy at this year’s 3LSF!
