Bonds Big Band (D)

Bonds Big Band is an ensemble of the Weil am Rhein Municipal Music School. The young band members have been delighting audiences with jazz, swing, Latin, pop and rock for years. The group, which features saxophones, trumpets, trombones, horns, flutes, piano, bass and drums, is no longer an insider tip, and not just in the 3-country town.
 
Performances at the Kidsjazz-Festival in Leipzig and concert tours to San Sebastian, Prague, Munich, Berlin, Leipzig and Milan as well as projects with teachers from the SWR Bigband, composition commissions and collaborations with instrumentalists and singers testify to the band's high standard.
 
The ensemble was founded in 2010 by saxophonist and clarinettist Christian Leitherer. The band leader started out with seven children. Today, the formation consists of more than 40 young people aged 11-24. They perform in a wide variety of formations and line-ups. They will also be demonstrating their skills at the 3LSF in 2024.
